- DOS/Windows development tools usually work OK if they don't use any
- protected mode resources. I've run Turbo Pascal 5.5 without any
- problem in a DOS box. I haven't tried installing my Turbo Pascal for
- Windows. I have run Actor 4.03, and it works OK, but ObjectDraw and
- the Whitewater Resource Toolkit have problems - they GPF and
- terminate.
-
- For OS/2 development, you have a few choices right now. You can get
- IBM's C-set/2. You can download gcc 2.1. Or you can purchase any of
- a few OS/2 compilers currently selling: Watcom, TopSpeed (JPI), and
- Zortech come to mind. I don't know if these are 32-bit OS/2 2.0
- compilers or if they are 1.x compilers, but they do work.
-
- Borland will be releasing BC++ for OS/2 2.0 sometime soon. it's in
- beta testing now.

-
- The Win 3.1 support is scheduled to be released with the Corrective
- Serive upgrade package. Support for Enhanced Mode Windows
- applications will never happen - that mode would compromise OS/2's
- system integrity.
