- While there have been a few improvement with the fixes provide by
- IBM, there are still annoyances that should be ironed out soon:
-
- Starting BASIC or BASICA from a windowed session still brings down
- the system with a page fault. Started from fullscreen, all goes well,
- i.e. the error is trapped, and the process is cancelled correctly
- without killing the OS.
- This is with the latest kernel fix applied. Though not a problem by
- itself, this hints at an underlying bug.
-
- After turning HPFS caching off with CACHE /LAZY:OFF, attempts to
- turn it back on lock up that session, until from another session
- CACHE /LAZY:OFF is issued.
-
- Also, does anyone else find the Borland C++ 3.0 IDE (DOS) project
- management features almost unusable on HPFS, for all the
- reloading of editor files, Build All not working, etc. ?
- Is it any better on FAT?
