- I've recently been involved in a discussion about this on Compuserve because
- I was having this problem continously. I mean, for the last 6 weeks, up
- until 3 days ago, I *never* booted without having this problem. What I decided
- the problem may have been is having *shadows* in your startup folder. When I
- replaced the shadows with *copies* of the programs, boom! it all started
- working. In the last 3 days, I haven't had an unsuccessful boot at all,
- including one day of continously rebooting the machine over a 4 hour period
- to test it.
-
- I personally suspect it is related to corrupted extended attributes caused
- by FAT mishandling of WPS, but I can't prove it. Oh well.
-
- Hope this helps,
