- On software.watson.ibm.com is a package with 1024x768 bitmaps to use
- with XGA or 8514/A (i suppose). The bitmaps are obviously rendered to 16
- colors. However, when I choose one of this files as background bitmap or
- lockup bitmap, the colors are all wrong (much too dark and too red).
- Does anybody know what the problem is?
- I have tried it on a XGA system, but not yet on 8514/A. Unfortunately
- the bitmaps are in the new OS/2 2.0 bitmap format, so I cannot view them
- with a common bitmap viewer (the ones I know of handle only up to Win 3
- format). Anyhow, I think the pictures are ok, but OS/2 disregards the
- palette in the file, even if it's only 16 colors. The question is then,
- where were the pictures tested?
