- Currently the least expensive way that I know of to set up a
- peer-to-peer LAN under OS/2 (which is really what you're saying when
- you say you want to share all drives) is with a TCP/IP package like
- IBM's TCP/IP 1.2.1 for OS/2. It should be about US$200 per station at
- academic pricing (with base plus NFS for each station). Not dirt
- cheap, but not awful either (and you get a very nice package with
- talk, mail, remote login/execution, and even a sample newsreader).
- Any ethernet card with an OS/2 NDIS driver will work (and you can look
- at the list on ftp-os2.nmsu.edu -- it is very long indeed).
-
- There are of course DOS packages (e.g. NetWare Lite) which do run but
- are somewhat inelegant under OS/2 (in the sense that they do not take
- advantage of any of OS/2's special features).
