- I think you have really answered your own question, that there is some
- fatal flaw with the hard drive you have been using. Hopefully the
- hard drive is still under warranty and can be exchanged.

- I do not know of any magic bullet that will fix your problem -- I
- haven't heard of any problems relating to Conner hard drives in
- general. I think you just happen to have a bad hard drive in this
- particular case.

- As a last ditch effort, though, try the following:

- (1) Perform a CHKDSK /F per the instructions in the OS/2 FAQ List.
- (2) Perform a restoration to "factory defaults" of the desktop and
- CONFIG.SYS using the ALT-F1 trick described in the OS/2 README file in
- the root directory.
- (3) Perform a reformat/reinstall of OS/2 on that hard drive. The
- reformat is important -- I would not skip that step.
