- I recently installed os/2 2.0 and I'm putting it through the paces.
- One thing that would really impress me is to be able to at least run
- falcon 3.0 and possible multitask it, under os/2. Falcon 3.0 seems to
- put a lot of demands on the hardware so this seems like a good test.
- Here is my configuration:
- 80486-33 with 8MB ram
- 200 mb ide HD using HPFS (completely)
- Orchid prodesigner II w/ 1mb (1024x768x256) I have beta 0.9
- drivers
- soundblaster pro installed with default settings
-
- When I run Falcon using the default dos settings strange
- things happen. The company title screen displays fine and the music is
- fine. When the animation sequence starts (two plane combat) the music
- is garbles and the animation is extremely slow. the credits screens
- are fine as is their music. however, when I exit the credits Falcon
- reports that it can't find or open the file sound.bnk, which I have
- verified is present, and exits.
-
- Before I start fiddling with settings I thought I'd see if
- anyone has gotten Falcon 3.0 to run under os/2. If you have had
- success with other high res games using the sound blaster I would like
- to hear what it took.
-
- Thanks for any help,
-
