- Greetings,
- i have watched with interest the win32 OS, as an application i am developing is
- ideally suited to the windows GUI, but requires a real OS underneath. as NT
- delivers this, i wish to get the SDK. i know i'm going to get flamed
- mercilessly for asking this, but what number to i dial or to what address do i
- write to get the darned thing? i haven't got the 3.1 SDK, so i'm apparently
- not on microsoft's mailing list, and nothing i've seen in print deals with the
- subject of how to cash in on this amazing 69 dollar deal. do you have to be a
- "registered microsoft developer" to take advantage of this?
- (humble request: if i'm gonna be flamed for this, at least don't tell me to
- call microsoft. i KNOW what phoning microsoft is like.)
- also, what SCSI cards are supported by the kit? i have an Always IN2000, but
- another fella who's in a similar situation has yet to buy SCSI or CD-ROM, so he
- is naturally interested in buying a controller and CD-ROM that will be
- supported by NT. while any combination supported under DOS will allow you to
- install it, as i understand, it would be nice to get at all that lovely CD
- documentation under NT. so if anyone has an authoritative list of what
- controllers (i am specifically interested in the Always IN2000) and what
- CD-ROMs (i am specifically interested in that fast new NEC (CDR-84/74 or
- something, i think)) are supported, i'd be grateful to have it.
- thanks for your tolerance of a windows/nt neophyte,
- -matt braithwaite (braithwaite@fncrd0.fnal.gov)
