- Hi all,
-
- Has anyone tried to get TCP/IP working? According to the
- Release Notes, page 21, "Instructions for TCP/IP and
- utilities", there is a bunch of stuff "If you installed using
- the graphical setup program". But we don't have a SCSI CD
- ROM, so used the dos2nt install procedure.
-
- My card is a Western Digital 8013, which is on the "approved
- list". I edited the tcpip.ini file, and ran regini against it
- (this generated a shitload of errors--apparently regini
- doesn't like comments). I can see that the stuff made it in
- however, by running the regedit browser. I also added a
- hosts list to c:/winnt/system/drivers/etc/hosts. I also
- uncommented the wdlan field in registry.ini after running
- dos2nt, but before rebooting to complete the installation
- process.
-
- When I try to start the services, I get:
-
- "The TCPIPSVC service could not be started.
-
- More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3523".
-
- If I type "net helpmsg 3523" I get:
-
- "The *** service could be started"
-
- Alistair?
-
- cheers - Paul.
