- High Netters,
-
- I've been writting (*trying* to) a windows application which accepts
- data from an Analogic (FAST 14-1-4) 14 bit, 1Mhz ADC board which has
- 4Mb of local memory(not memory mapped to the PC). The board transfers
- data to the PC two words at a time via DMA (thats alot of DMA INTs!).
- The vender supplied software library is written for DOS (MSCv6.0), and
- not windows. I am currently using MSCv7.0, Windows 3.1, and running
- a 386/33 with 8Mb, and MS DOS 5.0.
-
- I'm new at this type of interfacing through Windows so.....

- Questions:
-
- 1) Do any of you have suggestions/comments on how to start this project?
- Any references, I've got the books by Petzold, Rector, Norton&Yao -
- these aren't much help for this. Is the book by Daniel Norton,
- "DEvice Drivers For Windows" something I should track down? I've
- got the library looking for some related DDJ articles from early
- this year.
-
- 2) Do I have all the software tools I need? I've come across an
- advertisment (pg 139) in this months DDJ (8/92) for TurboPower's
- Windows System Library. It apparently has, ammung other things,
- "DPMI access for advanced interrupt and memory control". Anyone
- heard of this product before? Maybe used it? Is this something
- I should consider?
-
- Comemnts and insights would really help me get started.
-
- Replys by email would be best (nus16@ttacs1.ttu.edu)
-
- I will be happy to post a summary if folks would like.
-
- Thanks for you feedback!
