  12. We have a (severe) problem with a Windows application that we are
  13. writing.  It seems to work properly in Windows 3.1, but not in 3.0.
  14. (The symptoms are described below).  It is being written in Knowledge-Pro, 
  15. although it also uses a number of DLLs written in C.  The people who wrote
  16. Knowledge-Pro cannot help, so I suspect it is not a Knowledge-Pro bug,
  17. but rather a 3.0 vs 3.1 incompatability.

  19. After running the programme for a few minutes (in Windows 3.0), it
  20. starts behaving strangely, with various windows not redrawing themselves,
  21. and ultimately it locks up completely.  The mouse still moves, but that
  22. is all.  Because of the fact that windows aren't redrawn, I suspect
  23. that Windows is running short of device contexts, or something like that,
  24. but I have no way of determining what or where.

  26. Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be?  If so, please
  27. respond because the matter is rather urgent.  Also, if anybody could
  28. point me towards any sort of diagnostic tools that can run under 3.0,
  29. I would appreciate it.  (Things like DBWIN and STRESS which come with
  30. the 3.1 SDK, but don't run under 3.0).
