- Hi there,
-
- We have a (severe) problem with a Windows application that we are
- writing. It seems to work properly in Windows 3.1, but not in 3.0.
- (The symptoms are described below). It is being written in Knowledge-Pro,
- although it also uses a number of DLLs written in C. The people who wrote
- Knowledge-Pro cannot help, so I suspect it is not a Knowledge-Pro bug,
- but rather a 3.0 vs 3.1 incompatability.
-
- After running the programme for a few minutes (in Windows 3.0), it
- starts behaving strangely, with various windows not redrawing themselves,
- and ultimately it locks up completely. The mouse still moves, but that
- is all. Because of the fact that windows aren't redrawn, I suspect
- that Windows is running short of device contexts, or something like that,
- but I have no way of determining what or where.
-
- Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be? If so, please
- respond because the matter is rather urgent. Also, if anybody could
- point me towards any sort of diagnostic tools that can run under 3.0,
- I would appreciate it. (Things like DBWIN and STRESS which come with
- the 3.1 SDK, but don't run under 3.0).
-
- Thanks already,
-
