- I am having an odd problem since installing DOS 5.0. The situation is this:
- I have the need to use single sheets of paper frequently with my Epson
- RX80-F/T+ printer to print out resumes and the like. I have the paper out
- error disabled via the dip switch in the printer so I can get all of the
- document on the page. This works successfully with DOS 3.2 and 3.3, but not
- with DOS 5.0. With DOS 5.0, upon getting the paper out light on the printer,
- the system stops and I get an error like Write error on device LPT1 (or
- PRN). This does not happen with previous versions of DOS. This problem
- occurs even if I use the COPY or PRINT commands to send a file to the
- printer. Has anyone seen this problem with MSDOS 5.0 or know how it can be
- easily fixed (I don't really want to go the "put a piece of tape over the
- paper out switch on the printer" way because this should work as I have it
- set up now. Any help on this would be most appreciated. By the way, I am
- running on a Zenith Z-157 XT compatible system, just for information
- in case you need it. Thanks.
