- I have a 486 with 8 megs of which 2 is given to smartdrv. I tried
- playing around with setting higher and found no noticable improvement
- in access times. I tried starting Windows 3.1 with Norton Desktop as
- my default shell, promptly exiting and restarting. I also tried
- compiling 800K of C source code, touching the *.c files and recompling
- again. I didn't write any special code to test it though so I can
- only give you my 'seat of the pants' impression, for me 2 megs is plenty.
