- Thanks to the folks who suggested that the DOS COMMAND re-typing programs
- which I am looking for (which don't disable the F1 and F3 buffers) are
- available in DOS 5 (keystack) and Norton (NDOS is really 4DOS).
-
- I own & use both DOS 5 and Norton 6, and discovered that NDOS is only
- practical if your machine has extra memory or a very fast harddisk (mine
- hasn't). My machine is an older 286-AT with 640K ram and a slow disk:
- NDOS wants 80,000 bytes of my ram! If I had extra memory, NDOS would
- swap itself in-and-out, thus needing only 4000 bytes ram. NDOS can swap
- itself in-and-out using the harddisk as memory, but on a slow disk the
- wait is amazingly long!
-
- So, the search continues. A few minutes ago, I found a program called
- "TODDY" which is a tiny stacker. If it's remarkable, I'll post a remark.
