- There are two ways you could back it up, I'll give examples assuming you
- have one drive, the "stacked" volume is C: and the "original" volume is
- D: When you run Stacker, what it does is create a large hidden file on
- your disk, install an interface program in memory, and lie to DOS. As
- far as DOS is concerned, that large hidden file (named something like
- STACKVOL) _is_ your C: drive. So, you can either back up the files on
- the stacked drive as if it were normal (probably your best bet) or you
- can back up the "original" drive, which includes that large hidden file.
- The problem with that latter is, what if you only want the file
- C:\WINDOWS\TOADSUCK.DOC? What you have to do in that case is restore
- the _whole_ thing. You'll get your file back, but it's equivalent to
- deleting everything on your disk and restoring completely from your last
- backup.
