- William, you have your information correct; CLSI is a library systems
- vendor, and their current hi-end platform is a Sequent. I was
- an SE with them for a while, and a systems manager for a major
- customer (NYPL) after that.
-
- They do not only card catalogs, but related services like circulation
- control, MARC records, public access terminals, etc. obviously, all
- functions which are based on the 'card' catalog.
-
- I know of no internet/usenet mailing lists or newsgroups devoted
- to CLSI. As far as I know, they did not even have internet connections
- during the period I worked for them (86-87). You might try
- asking at your local library system if they are a CLSI account;
- if they are, they'll know how to get in touch with the CLSI users
- group. If they're not, ask about getting info about the Library
- groups and associations.
-
- BTW, CLSI is located in Newton, Mass.
