  14. Since a couple of people asked, I thought I'd post again.

  16. To diagnose problems related to blank screens and nothing
  17. starting up under X386, try

  19. startx 2> /mnt/spam

  21. since X386 prints its stuff to stderr.

  24. Other good ideas include commenting out the Clocks line
  25. in your Xconfig file and then trying the above.

  27. Also, make sure the last line of your .xinitrc is

  31. ...or whatever window manager else you've got, but twm
