  13. I'am nearly upgraded from 0.96a to 0.96c,
  14. now I'am running GCC2.2.2 with the 0.96c boot-disk and X11/v1.0
  15. Many thanks for the "echo U*n >/dev/maus" tip, for my Logi-Maus :-)
  16. But I've a lot of more problems :-(

  18. 1 - Running a self compiled kernel.

  20.     If I compile the kernel with ROOTDEV=/dev/hda2 i get

  22.        Kernel panic: unable to read i-node block.
  23.  
  24.     Looking at the build-messages I've seen that build says "root (0,2)"
  25.     patch "root_major=3" in line 83 just after the stat() call solves it ???
  26.  
  27.     Is stat broken in GCC2.2.2 ???

  29. 2 - Running X11/v1.0

  31.     If I now use this kernel, log in as root and type startx,
  32.     my X-Server starts, but
  33.  
  34.        NOTHING STARTS AFTER THE X-SERVER :-(

  36.     I've tried to change my /.xinitrc so that only xterm comes up
  37.     but realy nothing gets up :-(

  39. 3 - Running X11/v1.1

  41.     When I install X11/v1.1/xbase, and type startx I only have a
  42.     blank screen. It doesnt matter if I do that from boot/0.96c, or
  43.     from my own kernel ???
