- Is there written something about performance of gcc.2.12 running under
- Linux?
-
- I ask because I have tried to compare the Linux gcc compiler and the DOS
- djgcc gnu compiler - I understand that they have the same origin -
- and it seems that the gnu compiler is much faster !!
-
- And if I use the tcsh 'time' comand it seems that only 30% of the time
- is used in CPU! In comparison the gcc2.2.2 on a network running
- SUNOS 4.1.2 compiling the same program uses 60% in CPU !
-
- My quistions is 'Is ther any thing to do about it ?'
- 'Is gcc2.2.2 faster as gcc.2.12 ?'
- 'Does it have anything to do with cash to do ?'
-
- I'm running Linux root0.96a on 486 box with 8MB
- and I have tried with and without swap_file -- no difference.
- I'am running it from X11R5 twm.
