  11. Summary: How/where can one get files to port programs such as XFIG?

  13. I downloaded (ftp) one of the X11 contrib splits from a stanford machine
  14. with the intent to PORT XFIG.  I used cat to put the peices 
  15. together:

  18.        cat contrib-1* >c1.tar
  19.  
  20. and then untared it and got a checksum error.  I used a binary
  21. mode transfer.   I have never done this before.  Question: is
  22. this the right method to use, and there is just glitch, or am I
  23. way off?  Any help appreciated.

  25. p.s. I have now ported Ghostscript, Ghostview, and Gnuplot, is anyone
  26. needs help with these.  Also, thanks to everyone who answered
  27. questions to help with these ports!

  29. p.s.s. does anyone know what unidraw is?  is it better than xfix?
