- Hiya,
- I've been running Linux (0.96cpl2 now) for a week or so. I have not
- had any real major problems sense then. A really great system, many
- congrats to all the developers & those others helping!
- I did have to remove the line printing "Unexpected HD interupt" from
- hd.c, as mentioned in the FAQ (I'm using a Ultrastor ULTRA 14F controller).
-
- Anyway... I've been having *real* problems trying to get X windows running.
- I've read through all the files included with the Xbase release, FAQs,
- lotso posts on "how to get X running" with no luck.
- I've re-installed X a few times, with different copies. I'm running it on
- a Gateway i486/33, w/ a ATI graphics Ultra & 1572 FS monitor.
- Yes, I'm using the new 8514/a X386 server in alpha. The server is not
- the problem though, its something small, and dumb, that I can't put my
- finger on. Here's the error that xinit returns (has anyone run accross
- this error?):
- giving up.
-
- xinit: Interrupted system call (errno 4): unable to connect to X server
-
- xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
-
- Thanx in advance to any Xguru that might be able to help.
