  11. I've been running Linux (0.96cpl2 now) for a week or so. I have not
  12. had any real major problems sense then. A really great system, many
  13. congrats to all the developers & those others helping!
  14. I did have to remove the line printing "Unexpected HD interupt" from
  15. hd.c, as mentioned in the FAQ (I'm using a Ultrastor ULTRA 14F controller).

  17. Anyway... I've been having *real* problems trying to get X windows running.
  18. I've read through all the files included with the Xbase release, FAQs,
  19. lotso posts on "how to get X running" with no luck.
  20. I've re-installed X a few times, with different copies. I'm running it on
  21. a Gateway i486/33, w/ a ATI graphics Ultra & 1572 FS monitor.
  22. Yes, I'm using the new 8514/a X386 server in alpha.  The server is not
  23. the problem though, its something small, and dumb, that I can't put my
  24. finger on.  Here's the error that xinit returns (has anyone run accross
  25. this error?):
  26. giving up.

  28. xinit:  Interrupted system call (errno 4):  unable to connect to X server

  30. xinit:  No such process (errno 3):  Server error.
