- I also hacked at the kernel to remove that annoying message. I took the
- svgamode.patch file and tried to apply the patch. It was broken so I just
- went through the patch and applied it by hand. I got it to work fine so...
- if anyone has upgraded to 0.96cpl2 and managed to compile it using a modified
- version of svgamode, can (s)he send the cdiffs to Linus so he can try (Please,
- please, pretty please!!!) to incorporate it in his next release? I think
- there are a lot of people who would prefer not to have to selevt a video mode
- since they use the same one all the time. If that solution isn't right, maybe
- we could store a file somewhere containing the video mode to run and the video
- mode could be set in /etc/rc or something like that. Or a utility that
- changes the video mode on the fly. I don't know all that much about video
- card so I wouldn't be of much help. But I'm sure someone out there can do it.
- After all, we've got a stable OS that outperforms MS-DOG and possibly other
- Unices... all in less than a year. Far out!
