  13. Because of a lot of hard work from linus, hlu and obz, it is now
  14. possible for me to compile and run a lot of X11 programs without
  15. needing more than a few tons of disk-space.
  16.  
  17. I have made a list of the X11 clients outside of those supplied by obz
  18. which I now have more or less running on my system. Some programs have
  19. notes saying some of the things I remember from compiling. Please feel
  20. free to react via E-mail (suggestions, questions, your lists like this
  21. one). I would like other people to share their experience with me.

  31. compile this one, 'flex' didn't do it. It is rather buggy, but I don't

  33. The mwm-emulation (V1.1) has crashed a number of times, and the
  34. twm-emulation sometimes clones the icon manager window. I am still
  35. evaluating this one, so, if you have any information, please send it
  36. to me.

  114. Up to patchlevel 15. You should really try this version, and not any
  115. older one. This one contains a "grey" option, as in EmTEX under DOS,
  116. and can create fonts when they are needed, as in dvips. The grey
  117. option makes the text a lot more readable! Only change needed to get
  118. it compiled was in xdvi.h, to #undef'ine HAS_SIGIO. In the Imakefile,
  119. I put '-DGREY' '-DA4' and '-DMAKEPK' into the DEFS line, changed
  120. '-DBMSHORT' to '-DBMLONG' and removed '-DMSBITFIRST'.

  127. 486/33 to a load-average of 0.35 when running alone....
  128. Running was a problem, until I noticed that the source code
  129. mentions that it expects a 16 bit result for random. It runs like a
  130. charm if this is changed to 32 bit, which can be done with an #ifdef.
