- I seem to be having a bit of trouble getting linux to create a valid FS
- on an RLL drive. I have a WD RLL controller, and I created a 32 meg
- partition for it(actually it was a DOS partition, bit I hacked it to be
- a minix type partition. Anyhow when I run mkfs -c [blah blah] it chokes
- on sector 3870 while checking for bad clusters. I know that this is
- bull, since I had SpeedStor verify the partition and it is clean of bad
- sectors.
-
- Am I crazy and linux should support RLL formatted drives, or is it a
- non-supported feature of the OS? Is there hope for a patch/updated
- release?
- Or do I have to spend some $$$ I don't have to buy an IDE or SCSI drive.
- Type at you all again soon.
-
- BTW Linux is a great os, and I hope I can get it installed on my HD. I
- like what I see and want more!!!! Keep up the great work guys!
