- My Trackman finally works!
-
- The steps:
- 1. Install the X distribution (a wonderfully easy install, haven't
- had a chance to use yet though)
-
- 2. cd /dev; ln /dev/ttys0 /dev/mouse
-
- 3. goto the /usr/X11/tst/mouse directory
-
- 4. ./mouse Microsoft /dev/mouse
- go figure -- It's microsoft compatible, choosing Logitech gives
- garbage
-
- 5. After this step the test-mouse program included with selection
- lets me draw pretty patterns (compile with P_MS)
-
- Thanks to the previous poster who suggested this sequence!
-
- ObLinuxRave: I completely reinstalled Linux in just under an hour using the
- combined MCC/X11 release at sc.tamu.edu; I'm currently logged in thru kermit
- and tested the above sequence in another virtual console. I'm flabbergasted!
- Thanks to Linus and all you folks contributing -- words fail me.
