- Will this still have an effect on your eyes from prolonged use (4+
- hour stretches) though even though you do not perceive a problem?
- Most of the good et4000 cards have a high dot clock of 80. Hmm, can
- the S3 (namely, the Diamond Stealth) be programmed to emit a dot clock
- to at least 100Mhz? This would make 1152x900 adequate (according to
- Satish's xclk program).
-
- There is a PD (well, freely available, whatever) S3 project in the works.
- Hopefully, we'll all have a nice Christmas present. ;-) If the S3 can
- drive the better 17" monitors without flicker and without moire' problems
- (brought on also by too low a dot clock), then with it's added speed
- advantages over the et4000, it will be the ideal card to use for X386.
- Also, by the Fall, the price will hopefully drop below $200.
