  12. The mrphmpmmmph, is me trying to gracefully extract my foot from
  13. my mouth.  Yes, it does seem that shoelace is not broken.  I had
  14. just re-orged my small HD to allow repartitioning of my big HD with
  15. extended, and /shoelace got erased :-(

  17. I suppose this comes from porting a package I really don't like
  18. (sorry Bruce Evans, its just that too many of it's features don't 
  19. work, because I was in too much of a hurry to get off of Minux)
  20. and I was subconciously hoping it was broken :-)

  22. However,  several wrote proposing all sorts of partitioning 
  23. schemes, most of which seem to be designed to control disk
  24. space.  But I hate partitioning because it 1) is destructive
  25. to data, 2) is limited to four and, 3) requires a reboot.

  27. One solution is to implement quotas, but I think Linus may
  28. have said nay to that already.  Another would be to
  29. allow mounting of files as file systems?  Comments? Catcalls?
