- The mrphmpmmmph, is me trying to gracefully extract my foot from
- my mouth. Yes, it does seem that shoelace is not broken. I had
- just re-orged my small HD to allow repartitioning of my big HD with
- extended, and /shoelace got erased :-(
-
- I suppose this comes from porting a package I really don't like
- (sorry Bruce Evans, its just that too many of it's features don't
- work, because I was in too much of a hurry to get off of Minux)
- and I was subconciously hoping it was broken :-)
-
- However, several wrote proposing all sorts of partitioning
- schemes, most of which seem to be designed to control disk
- space. But I hate partitioning because it 1) is destructive
- to data, 2) is limited to four and, 3) requires a reboot.
-
- One solution is to implement quotas, but I think Linus may
- have said nay to that already. Another would be to
- allow mounting of files as file systems? Comments? Catcalls?
