- It might be a little lengthy, but making a dummy account without a login
- and putting the info in a .plan file would enable us to access the information
- without stressing out a system administrator over opening an account without
- a password. I'm not trying to start a thread on system security, just stating
- the fact that there are a lot of nervous system administrators.
-
- The database wouldn't have to be very complicated, just the name of the
- software and the names and email addresses of people working on them. In
- fact, the people doing the work could put the status of their projects in
- their own .plan files (when possible) so the database maintainer doesn't
- have to spend as much time updating the list. Those that aren't as tightly
- connected to the internet can ask volunteers to maintain a .plan for them.
-
- Just thought I'd offer a couple of suggestions for what seems like a very
- good idea.
