- One of the beauties of linux is that, in the long run, we are not tied down
- to intel any more. While portint the OS itself would be a chore (I understand
- much of the code is very i386 specific), linux as a standard os (with standard
- sys calls, etc.) could probably be made to run just about anywhere. If it
- should become the operating system of choice in the future, we will probably
- be much freeer to pick and chose the hardware of our choice (motorola, alpha?)
