- Hi,
-
- I just installed TeX on my Linux system (a 486/33 ISA, 8 Mb, 200 Mb IDE)
- and just wanted to see what the speed of it was compared to TeX on my
- SparcStation-2 (at work of course :-) ). So I did a very simple test
- (and probably not very scientific). I took a document (29 pages) and TeX-ed
- it 10 times. The results were:
-
- SS-2 1:57 min
- 486/33 1:12 min
-
- These are response times. Both machines were doing nothing else (the
- SS-2 is on an network, but the network and the server had very little
- load at the time (11:00 pm)).
-
- I know you can't draw any conclusions from this, but I'm impressed anyway.
