- : BTW - I found a very cool book, Unix System V Release 4 an Introduction.
- : 1200 pages, includes a lot of things that are in Linux, like how
- : to set up administration things, how TCP/IP works. It also has
- : a lot of info about diff, tr, sed, etc. All for $25.00 @ BookStop!

- I seem to recall having heard a while back that a SYSVR3 book was a better
- buy for Linux, because it was closer to what was actually implemented in
- Linux. I picked up the SYSVR3 book myself, and find it good, as well as
- the Unix System Administartion Handbook. Excellent.

- I've had friends in the Un*x community ask me "What is Linux like? Is it
- a SYSV or BSD flavor?" I am at a loss, because it rather seems to be some
- of both. Perhaps this is it's POSIX showing through?
-
- Thanks.
