- You obviously have a different version of laceup than he does (or I
- do). Having done just exactly what you suggest so bluntly, on boot the
- system shows a map of partitions with 2 highlighted by an asterisk, and
- waits for a partition number to be entered.

- says is correct. In this case, at least for some versions of laceup (or
- some machines), this isn't the case.

- I also noted that evil things happened when I just hit ENTER to take
- the default. It didn't. I'm perfectly willing to believe that this is a
- BIOS anomaly, but no amount of following the directions will help.
