  12. Ok. I got my setterm working properly now by taking the advice of Mika Pekka Liljeberg:

  19. However, now my vi is messed up and when I insert, extra spaces get 
  20. inserted. I thought that this too might be a result of the kernel
  21. changes so I recompiled elvis but found it to act the same way. I
  22. suspect a problem in the new termcap file that came in 
  23. setterm-0.96b.tar.Z but I haven't got a clue how to fix it. Has
  24. anyone else found this problem and a solution?
