- Ok. I got my setterm working properly now by taking the advice of Mika Pekka Liljeberg:
-
- > You have an outdated version of setterm. Grab the new one from
- > tsx-11.mit.edu, banjo.concert.net or nic.funet.fi. The package
- > goes by the name setterm-0.96b.tar.Z. The correct sequence is
- > ESC [ 8 ], by the way.
-
- However, now my vi is messed up and when I insert, extra spaces get
- inserted. I thought that this too might be a result of the kernel
- changes so I recompiled elvis but found it to act the same way. I
- suspect a problem in the new termcap file that came in
- setterm-0.96b.tar.Z but I haven't got a clue how to fix it. Has
- anyone else found this problem and a solution?
