  13. I have a friend who owns an Amstrad 8256 with quite a few text files created 
  14. using LocoScript 2.  She needs to transport these to either a PC or Mac
  15. environment.  I suggested a simple ASCII transfer via modem.  The questions
  16. we need answers to are:

  18.     Do you need a special interface to connect a modem to the 8256.
  19.  
  20.     If so, where do you get it and what price?
  21.  
  22.     If not, how is it connected?
  23.  
  24. There are enough important files involved to make some reasonable expense
  25. justifiable, but we hesitate to start purchasing more hardware without some
  26. reasonable guarantee of success.  Has anyone had any experience in this type
  27. of transfer, either good or bad, and what are your recommendations?
