  15. I finally found how to do it... I came accross the exmple for stty() in the MWC
  16. Coherent Lexicon (page 1011 in my edition).  There is a complete example of how
  17.  to implement almost exactly what I needed.  Just a few minor changes necessary
  18. .  Anyway it works great now.
