  11. The version of TAYLOR-UUCP 1.03 which is offered at MWCBBS is now also
  12. available here in Germany.
  13. There is now a new group for downloading:  down386  which will contain
  14. files for Coherent 4.0
  15.  
  16. Nevertheless is this beast, although in zipped format (zipped at MWC !),
  17. about 850 K. So I recommend to poll it only if one has a high speed modem
  18. (V32bis with error control).
  19. Usual transfer rates from ECSBBS with V32bis and YMODEM are about 1200 cps
  20. to 1300 cps (depending on your modem). ZMODEM is too slow.
  21. ecsbbs now also runs the kermit5a which allows rates of > 1000 cps for V32bis.

  23. THE GUEST/GAST-LOGIN ALSO ALLOWS DOWNLOADING (PD ONLY !!). SO NO REASON TO
  24. LOGIN with a silly fantasy name !!!!!!

  26. On request I will also offer only the pure binaries ("my" version, own
  27. port, is 120 k for uucico and 65k for uuxqt) without any warranty ;-))

  29. Transfer rates with Coherent 4.0 and Taylor are:

  44. So TAYLOR UUCP will give you a high transfer rate and has a very reliable
  45. handshaking.
