- Right or wrong, this is strictly routine and is not an attempt to embarrass
- the defendants. Law-enforcement agencies almost always give reporters the
- addresses and ages of people they arrest. Besides, such information is
- usually contained in court records which, except in rare cases, are open to
- the public. On the local level, police logs also contain such information
- (even more in some cases). In Massachusetts, at least, these logs are also
- public records.
