  63. MMM'93  will provide a forum to discuss the issues 
  64. surrounding the efficient representation, processing, 
  65. interaction, integration and retrieval of multimedia 
  66. information.  The theme of the conference is modeling. 
  67. In particular, MMM'93 will concentrate on common modeling 
  68. frameworks for integrating the diverse fields of visual 
  69. information (graphics, image and video) and audio 
  70. information (speech, music and sound effects).   MMM'93 
  71. will be held November 9-12, 1993. Future MMM conferences 
  72. are planned for November 1995 and 1997.

  75. CALL  FOR  PAPERS

  78. Contributions describing original research, surveys and 
  79. applications in the following areas are solicited:
  80.  
  81. *  Topological and Geometric Modeling
  82. *  Integration of Computer Graphics and Computer Vision
  83. *  Model-Based Video/Vision/Graphics
  84. *  Speech and Music Modeling
  85. *  Integration of Multimedia Information
  86. *  Synchronization of Multimedia Information
  87. *  Interactive Multimedia
  88. *  Audio, Visual and Spatial Database Modeling
  89.  
  90. Authors are requested to submit manuscripts (in English) of
  91. no more than 6,000 words describing original results of
  92. their research works.  The first part of the paper should
  93. include a Title; an abstract of no more than 200 words; a
  94. maximum of 8 keywords; Author's name(s), title, affiliation,
  95. mailing and E-mail addresses, short biography and photo; and
  96. a statement of commitment that "if accepted, one of the
  97. authors will present the paper at MMM'93", and the name of
  98. the author who is responsible for the inclusion of the paper
  99. in the conference Proceedings.  Accepted papers will appear 
  100. in a hard-covered book to be published by World Scientific 
  101. Publishing House. Color pictures and slides are welcome in 
  102. all submissions.

  104. A preliminary round of paper review has been organized to
  105. help new researchers and research students to improve and
  106. fine-tune their work for MMM'93.  The deadline for the
  107. submission of papers for the preliminary review is 18th
  108. March, 1993.  The papers will be critically reviewed, and as
  109. much help as possible will be given to assist the authors to
  110. improve their work for the actual submission.
