- --Regarding all this add on stuff. Be patient, check out the Mac zi
- (this fall) 33/68030 with built in 24bit color card built in cd-rom
- (option) and three expansion slots for probably under 3k (who really knows).
- Then get any one of many sound boards based on the 56001 dsp chip. Or
- maybe you can wait for the dsp96002 to become affordable or maybe the
- AT&T chip, on and on.... Then you can struggle with getting the right
- A/D, D/A converter plus whatever filters you might need and then you'll
- realize that even with all that stuff your editing features will be
- limited because there IS NO INDUSTRY STANDARD time code sync that doesn't
- deviate exponentually every time you edit. Enough said, I'm getting too
- excited. On a lighter note, Quicktime as I've seen it is extremely
- over rated. I don't think it was originally intended for full frame video
- from the get go. Right now its great for replacing the logo at the top of
- documents and things but has a long way to go, especially with CISC
- processors comming up. After all, opening e-mail and having the image of
- a person talk to you as well as the written word is impressive in itself
- (at least to executives) isn't it? Don't be fooled by programs that
- tease you with features and/or standards that are not fully developed,
- excepted, or implamented. Enough said. Whats the hurry. I'm gonna wait.
