- Last time I looked at the 3.0 documentation (haven't got 3.1 yet), it had
- a fairly detailed explanation of the interface to XObjects. This was in the
- "Interactivity" manual, as I recall. There was even an explanation of how
- to use externals developed for HyperCard, and what sort of limitations they
- had to stick to to work.

- Call this a personal prejudice, but MacroMind Director isn't my idea of
- a good "extensible application" that you could use as a control centre for
- accessing data from other applications for use in a combined presentation. I
- prefer to do that sort of thing in HyperCard, or perhaps an alternative like
- SuperCard. HyperCard in particular has *much* more extensive callback
- facilities that an XCMD or XFCN can use; it can create its own windows and
- menus, intercept keystrokes and mouse clicks, get idle time, and so on.
