  12.     I want to know if there is a news group where I can find information on
  13. hashing algorithms.  I need one that can take a 48 character string (part number
  14. and manufacturer) and hash it into a completely unique 32 bit integer that has
  15. the same sort consistancy as the 48 character ASCII string.  Could some one 
  16. point me in the right direction?????
