- I have an old Synchronous Data Link Control Communications Adapter
- card (SDLC) that I have been using for several years now to sign on
- to an IBM System /36 using at first an XT, and later an AT system.
-
- I have noticed in the past that the SDLC Card was incompatible with
- the Everex Maxi EV-165 EMS card. This happened both in the XT and
- the AT system.
-
- I recently replaced a shaky modem with the Intel SatisFAXion 200
- card. Now this card seems to be incompatible with the SDLC Card.
-
- I try every possible I/O port address, and still the diagnostic
- program for the SDLC card fails. Is there something about the
- SDLC Card that it hogs up an entire range of I/O port addresses?
- Or is there something else that makes it so incompatible with
- other types of boards? 16-bit boards?
-
- I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can make both of
- these boards work in my AT system.
