-
- Mail to, say, user 70000,0000 on CompuServe can be sent to
- 70000.0000@compuserve.com. Note that the comma is replaced by a dot.
-
- Mail to MCI Mail users can be to their userid number, name, or any of
- several similar possibilities. If you send it to a name and it's
- ambiguous, then MCI Mail will send you back a list of possibilities.
- The best way is to send mail to their userid number, however; if they're
- 123-4567, you can send mail to 0001234567@mcimail.com.
-
- In either case, since the userids are usually not very mnemonic, you may
- want them to sent you email to generate a reply address first.
-
- Mail from these systems to the Internet is sent in the following ways:
-
- From CompuServe:
-
- Mail to ">INTERNET:user@host.dom.ain" (yes, the > is significant).
-
- From MCI Mail:
-
- At the To: prompt, type the recipient's full name, followed by "(ems)"
- At the EMS: prompt, type "internet"
- At the MBX: prompt, type "user@host.dom.ain"
-
- For example:
-
- CIS to me: >INTERNET:ckd@eff.org
-
- MCI Mail to me:
-
- To: Chris Davis (ems)
- EMS: internet
- MBX: ckd@eff.org
