- I've just begun using ELM( 2.3 PL11) and found something different
- from what is described in 'ELM Alias System Users Guide'(May 1,1990)
- obtained from dsinc.dsi.com
-
- I put this line in my 'aliases.text' file under ~/.elm.
-
- yong, yonghae = Yonghae Kim = ykim@sparcs.kaist.ac.kr.
-
- When I tried to send mail to him(Yonghae Kim), 'yong'(1st alias name
- in the list) was resolved to full e-mail address(ykim@sparcs.kaist.ac.kr).
- But, 'yonghae',the 2nd alias name for him was not resolved. Accordingly,
- in 'alias' submenu within ELM, 'yong' is found by 'P)erson' search, but
- 'yonghae'(the 2nd) is not found by 'P' search.
- I deleted space between two alias names and the result was the same
- as with space. ('yong, yonghae' instead of 'yong, yonghae')
-
- The 2nd page of 'ELM Alias System Users Guide'(dated May 1,1990)
- has a example just like one above.
-
- frank,minjarez = Frank Minjarez = Mijarez.Verify@dockmaster.arpa
-
- I'd like to know whether this feature(association of more than one name
- with one person in one line) was removed or has not been realized, yet.
- IMHO, it is a little more convenient to have this feature although without
- it one can still associate more than one alias name with a single person
- by having two seperate lines for each aliasname.
-
- I would like you to consider this problem and to send me reply
- at jshin@minerva.cis.yale.edu if I missed something in 'alias'.
-
- Thanks in advance.
