  23. By clever usage of the package posted under the heading 'multiple named
  24. regions' or some such thing you may be able to do this.

  26. The following is really wish list. All follow-ups to comp.emacs.misc please.

  28. The lack really is in the base emacs which should have

  30. - Multiple named regions
  31. - A region made up of blocks that are unconnected
  32.  
  33. Uses of the former : Ability to apply filters or other emacs commands
  34. without narrow/widen to individual regions by name. mapcar external filters/
  35. perl scripts or anything else on the regions.
  36.  
  37. Uses of the latter : Ability to apply filters on text which is conceptually
  38. contiguous but physically separate.
  39.  
  40. IMHO, these two features make any folding editor out there completely
  41. irrelevant at the same satisfying the needs of xedit/ispf editor exclude fans.
