  12. Can someone show me how to convert a real variable to a character array
  13. (i.e. string)?  I'm sure this is incredibly easy and I just haven't been
  14. looking in the right manuals.  Someone once told me how to do such a
  15. thing, but I don't remember it except that some simple formatted write
  16. statement was used.  Anyways, thanks in advance :-).

  18. p.s. I'm using Sun Fortran.  If there's some simple intrinsic function
  19. to do this, please do tell!
