- GNU software is not commerical (in fact, just the opposite). I have found
- it to be excellent.

- I will take exception to the first statement. GNU software can very
- easily be commercial software (Cygnus and Crynwr and other attest to
- this fact). It just happens to be under terms that are quite unlike
- most other commercial software: you can share it.

- And the reason for the second statement above (which I agree with) is
- the fact that since it *can* be shared, improvements *are* shared,
- from user to user and user to developer.

- Many commercial software houses use GNU software. Many hardware
- vendors are shipping gcc with their operating systems.
