  13. The Journal of C Language Translation, the leading journal for
  14. implementors of the C and C++ languages, has a new editor and publisher,
  15. and an expanded editorial direction.  The Journal is designed to be a
  16. technical forum for debating issues relevant to the implementation and
  17. extension of the C and C++ languages, their preprocessor and run-time
  18. libraries.
  19.  
  20. Until this year, the Journal was edited and published by Rex Jaeschke, who
  21. is well known in C standards circles.  Under the direction of the new
  22. editor (me) it retains its existing focus on the C language, with
  23. additional emphasis on the evolution and translation of C++.  Rex
  24. continues as an editorial advisor.

  26. Jim Brodie, the C Standards Editor, is chairman of the ANSI C committee.
  27. Bob Jervis, Numerical Editor, is a member of X3J11.1 and was one of the
  28. primary authors of Turbo C.  P. J. Plauger, Technical Editor, is the ANSI
  29. Secretary, ISO C Convenor, and technical editor of The C Users Journal.
  30. I expect to have a member of X3J16 reporting on C++ news.

  34. - Interpretation reports from the X3J11 ANSI C committee
  35. - What's new at the ISO WG14 C committee, particular internationalization
  36.   and wide and multi-byte character sets
  37. - What's new at the ANSI X3J16/ISO WG21 C++ committee
  38. - Numerical C extensions from ANSI X3J11.1
  39. - Incremental preprocessing and parsing of C programs
  40. - Parallel and vectorizable versions of C

  42. New subscribers can get a six month trial subscription for $99.  Regular
  43. subscription prices are are unchanged: $235/yr in North America, $250/yr
  44. elsewhere, quantity discounts possible.  Due the the change in editors,
  45. there was no June issue, so the next issue, Volume 4 Number 1, is
  46. scheduled for September.
