-
- Purpose:
- Research Exhibits are a forum for providing hands-on demonstrations
- of working research tools and systems, with an emphasis on interactive
- and/or visual and aural displays. They provide an opportunity for
- conference attendees to see a broad range of supercomputing research in
- action and to have one-on-one discussions with the research scientists
- involved. The research exhibits will be located on the Vendor Exhibit
- floor throughout the conference and will be available during normal
- exhibit hours at the option of the participating researchers.
-
- You are invited to submit a proposal for a Supercomputing '92 Research
- Exhibit in order to take advantage of this prime opportunity to present
- your latest research to a large portion of the supercomputing community.
- International exhibits are welcomed and encouraged.
-
- Computing Equipment:
- Research Exhibits are intended to either demonstrate working computing tools
- and systems, or to describe working tools/systems that are infeasible to
- set up at the conference. Exhibitors are expected to furnish their own
- computing equipment, at their own cost. (A small fund is available to help
- defray the cost of equipment transportation for those researchers who would
- not be able to come otherwise.)
-
- SCinet92 will provide a high bandwidth networking environment similar
- to that found at many supercomputer sites today. This network will be
- available, free of charge, to all research exhibitors.
-
- Standard Set Up:
- The standard set-up for each exhibit will be a 10 ft. by 10 ft. booth with
- one table, two chairs, and one counter/table suitable for a workstation. Any
- additional furniture can be rented by the exhibitor at the conference.
-
- Submission Details:
- To submit a proposal for a research exhibit, please send the following to the
- address given below.
- 1. Abstract, of less than or equal to FIVE pages, describing the software
- or other research and the purpose of your exhibit.
- 2. Computing equipment required for your exhibit, including necessary network
- connections.
- 3. Booths and furniture required beyond the standard set-up.
- 4. A statement as to whether or not you need assistance in covering the
- cost of transporting your computing equipment.
-
- DEADLINE for Submission: August 15, 1992
- (extended from original August 1 deadline)
-
- Send THREE copies of your submission, marked clearly as a RESEARCH EXHIBIT, to
