  18. Purpose:
  19.   Research Exhibits are a forum for providing hands-on demonstrations
  20.   of working research tools and systems, with an emphasis on interactive
  21.   and/or visual and aural displays.  They provide an opportunity for
  22.   conference attendees to see a broad range of supercomputing research in
  23.   action and to have one-on-one discussions with the research scientists
  24.   involved.  The research exhibits will be located on the Vendor Exhibit
  25.   floor throughout the conference and will be available during normal 
  26.   exhibit hours at the option of the participating researchers.

  28.   You are invited to submit a proposal for a Supercomputing '92 Research
  29.   Exhibit in order to take advantage of this prime opportunity to present
  30.   your latest research to a large portion of the supercomputing community.
  31.   International exhibits are welcomed and encouraged.

  33. Computing Equipment: 
  34.   Research Exhibits are intended to either demonstrate working computing tools 
  35.   and systems, or to describe working tools/systems that are infeasible to 
  36.   set up at the conference.  Exhibitors are expected to furnish their own 
  37.   computing equipment, at their own cost.  (A small fund is available to help 
  38.   defray the cost of equipment transportation for those researchers who would 
  39.   not be able to come otherwise.)

  41.   SCinet92 will provide a high bandwidth networking environment similar
  42.   to that found at many supercomputer sites today.  This network will be
  43.   available, free of charge, to all research exhibitors.

  45. Standard Set Up:
  46.   The standard set-up for each exhibit will be a 10 ft. by 10 ft. booth with
  47.   one table, two chairs, and one counter/table suitable for a workstation.  Any
  48.   additional furniture can be rented by the exhibitor at the conference.

  50. Submission Details:
  51.   To submit a proposal for a research exhibit, please send the following to the 
  52.   address given below.
  53.     1. Abstract, of less than or equal to FIVE pages, describing the software
  54.        or other research and the purpose of your exhibit.
  55.     2. Computing equipment required for your exhibit, including necessary network 
  56.        connections.
  57.     3. Booths and furniture required beyond the standard set-up.
  58.     4. A statement as to whether or not you need assistance in covering the
  59.        cost of transporting your computing equipment.
