  10. I would like to be able to display a 256 grey level picture on a VGA monitor
  11. and am willing to purchase a 24 bit video board to do so.  A number of 
  12. questions come to mind.
  13. 1-Are there video cards on the market with software drivers available
  14. to the end-user.  Specifically, I will be writing MS C code and would
  15. like to have a linkable subroutine library that I can control the functions
  16. of the video board.  One of the functions that I am looking for is the
  17. ability to load 1 of the 3 eight bit deep color planes (RGB) then use
  18. that image to drive a monochrome VGA monitor.
  19. 2-Assuming that #1 is possible, is it then possible to load totally 
  20. different pictures into the three banks?
